Translation text and files
Files are processed in your browser. When you request translation, extracted or pasted text is sent to our server and then a Translation Provider. StarTranslate does not save translation text or files to a database. There is no 24-hour file archive to clear. Provider processing is governed by the provider’s terms.
Inquiries
Inquiry contact details and messages are stored in a restricted Supabase database to handle your request. You can request deletion through the contact form. The operator must configure a retention policy and identity details before accepting live submissions.
Preferences and analytics
Theme and consent preferences are stored on your device. Optional Google Analytics and advertising measurement load only when configured and separately accepted. Our measurement events exclude translation text, uploaded file content and contact details. Session recording is not enabled. You can withdraw either permission in Privacy choices; withdrawing consent reloads the page and attempts to remove first-party measurement cookies. Third-party cookies may need removal through browser settings.
Security and retention
Rate-limiting uses hashed identifiers. Server and hosting access logs may contain connection metadata, but application logs must never capture translation bodies. This notice must be completed with operator identity, applicable retention periods, and contact details before public launch.
